We will be amping up wine education classes in 2011. The goal is to have one class each month on various topics.
This month we will be comparing New World wines to their Old World counterpart. Old World wines are essentially anything from Europe: France, Italy, Germany and Spain. The New World covers the rest of the world: US, Australia, S. Africa, Chile, Argentina etc.
Come try a Cotes du Rhone compared to an Australian Shiraz or a Chablis to a California Chardonnay. By the end of the class you should have an understanding of the major differences between the two styles, an idea of which style you prefer and the appropriate times to drink each style.
The setting for the class is a very casual learning environment that encourages discussion and meeting new people.
Cheese and crackers will also be served as we work our way through 10 wines!
