Directions: Get to C-470 (exit # 260-Alameda) from whatever direction you are coming from. Turn west onto Alameda Pkwy, then take your first right onto Rooney Road. Go about 1.5 miles and the trailhead parking lot will be on your right.

We will meet at the S Rooney Rd parking lot at 5:45PM rolling out by 6:00PM.

Ride description: This is level 5 because the pace will be consistent with only a few brief stops. (I am a little slower on hills but steady. Stopping too long is hard on my back so I try to keep things rolling). We will go out a little slower on the Green Mountain Trail to get warmed up!

The ride is about 9 miles long, single track, good climb and downhill, gorgeous views from the summit.

We will start going counter clockwise around the base on Green Mountain Trail all the way to the south side switchbacks above the Utah road parking lot and regroup there. Then head up Rooney Hayden Trail to the towers and regroup there. (Be sure you turn left up the rocky portion of the trail by the 2 tier wood fence to get to the last part of the climb to the towers). Those that arrive quickly can come back down and climb back up with the rest of the group if they don't want to stand around and get stiff/cold.

We will drop down the back trail below the towers/road and come back to the road on the far north side. Back up the road to the Rooney Valley Trail to descend. At the intersection at the bottom we climb back on the right side trail at the V to get back to the cars.
