Overland Orienteering will be added to the Land Ops geotactical playbook during the 4th Annual Fall Event

Overview
Land Ops will be integrating orienteering tasks within the geotactical GPS exercises for this off road desert adventure. Orienteering requires the use of a compass and a map to navigate. Both GPS and map/compass technology will be used to achieve tactical objectives. A special field workshop will be provided to teach basic map and compass reading techniques.

Night Ops with SUREFIRE
Land Ops will be conducting a very sophisticated night operation with special signal exercises using illumination tools. At this point we may or may not introduce night orienteering, but expect to be challenged. This night op will be a journey into the unknown. Even for operators that have participated in night ops before, expect the unexpected. Units will check into base camp (net control) via radio and using other signal systems yet to be announced. Base camp will play a new communication role in signal communications with field units.

New Operators
If this is your first Land Ops event you will be teamed up with experienced operators and learn to function within our tactical teams. New members fit right in and begin picking up driving, navigating and communication skills fairly quickly. Everyone gets to participate by starting off at their own skill level. Returning operators serve as team leaders and over watchers to provide coaching, guidance and to insure the ops are conducted successfully and safely. Get ready for an adventure you will NOT soon forget.

More information will posted to this site as it becomes available.
