Social Analytics

Social media is rapidly developing into a primary business communications channel with use spanning customer service, sales, and marketing & communications. Yet many have yet to fully embrace social networks. Shawn Bouchard will discuss tactics and strategies for integrating social media alongside other traditional communications channels and systems including the basics of establishing social media policy, objectives, and measurement.

Shawn Bouchard lives and works in Vancouver, BC. In his current role as a Specialty Sales Account Executive for HootSuite, Shawn is responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy for the company’s social media and location-based marketing products.

Prior to getting social, Shawn worked in the web development and design industries. He has also played a leading marketing role for many Vancouver non-profit organizations such as Arts Umbrella and The Vancouver Playhouse. You can follow him onTwitter @SBouchard.

Arrive between 6:00pm and 6:30pm to network with other attendees. The presentation starts at 6:30pm. The evening consists of a 45 minute talk by Shawn Bouchard (followed by a 15 minute break), followed by a 30-minute Q&A with the audience. The evening will close with prize draws and a thank-you to the guest speaker. Everyone welcome.

Register at Langara Continuing Studies registration or online. Walk-ins are welcome -- late registration starts at 6:00pm. We suggest a minimum donation of $5 at the door, to be donated to United Way. The meetup will be in auditorium A122a (Google Map), between the Continuing Studies registration desk and cafeteria in Building A.

After the event, members can head over to Roots Cafe (6502 Main Street) for beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and networking.
