Getting Started with Lanica (Free Workshop)

Come and join us for a hands-on workshop to get you up and running with the Lanica Game Platform for JavaScript developers.

Create. Play. Deploy Cross-platform mobile apps for iOS + Android with Animo, Platino and Cosmo

This will be a beginner's introduction, we will build sample games for iOS/Android in JavaScript. It will be fun, quick, and easy to grasp. (pinky swear!)

The workshop will be run by Robert Bingham, an experienced mobile app developer, and will help new users pick up the basics of using JavaScript for mobile development with the Platino game engine and Appcelerator's Titanium SDK.

In the workshop, you will get familiarized with:

• Platino: A native game engine for JavaScript developers.

• Animo: Developer and designer tools for 2D or 2.5 game creation.

• Titanium: Appcelerator's open-source mobile framework.

PLUS you will be provided with code for a complete sample of a fully working game!

Before coming, be sure to download and install the following:

• Titanium SDK

• Xcode 4.X (if on Mac)

• Android SDK up to date (Mac and PC)

• A recent version of Platino installed (trial or full version)

If you don't have Platino installed yet, there is a 'quick start' video guide here and a more detailed walk-through here.

We look forward to seeing you, and firing up your engine!

October 8th is right around the corner. How many of the RSVP'd have download Platino and started working with the samples?

Thank you to everyone that has RSVP'd. I'm excited to meet you all and do some coding. Thank you to Peach, Lanica and Appcelerator for the opportunity.
