Needs a location
This is a day hike to climb the (relatively) easy California 14'er, White Mountain Peak. The route follows a two track road up to the Barcroft research station at 12,500' and keeps going to another small station at the summit. The approach to the trailhead is a rough dirt road, 4wd or high clearance is recommended. We will car camp Friday night either at the Grandview campground at 8500' or at the trailhead at 11,700'. My preference is to camp at the trailhead. I will be driving my truck, and can carry 5 plus gear if we pack light.
Total Distance: 15.5 miles round trip
Total Elevation Gain: 3,500'
Altitude: 11,700' - 14,246'
Terrain Description: Class 1 (Road Hike)
Approximate Hiking Time: 7 hours
