The Loudoun Heights trail at Harper's Ferry is a scenic 6 mile out and back hike that has an elevation gain of 1,500 feet and is rated as moderate. We will meet at the Harpers Ferry Visitors Center shuttle stop at 10:15 am sharp and take the free shuttle one mile to the trail head. NOTE that parking is $15 (unless you have a National Park Pass), so carpooling is recommended. (There is very limited free parking near the trail head.) Please comment in the event if you would like to carpool from VA Square metro in Arlington @8:30am.
Please be prepared to hike at a steady 25 min mile (2.5 mph) so that we can complete the hike in under 3 hours and head out to Vanish Brewery near Leesburg for lunch and drinks. Lunch is optional unless you're carpooling with someone who is joining. This hike may be rescheduled for the next day, Sunday the 27th, if the forecast calls for heavy rain.
