Weekly Laughter Yoga Club
Laughter Yoga is a unique concept whereby we laugh for no reason but with a purpose. That purpose is to gain the scientifically demonstrated benefits of laughter including reduced blood pressure. lowered blood pressure, reduced stress, improved immune system, kicking depression and better cardiovascular function. Our Mantra is fake it till you make it. Because the body is unable to distinguish between real and fake laughter, you still get the same benefits! Laughter Yoga is powerful medicine. It was started by Dr. Madan Kataria in Mumbai India, who researched the healing benefits of laughter. He found the benefits to be so profound that he was compelled to start laughter clubs all over the world. We are now in at least 65 countries with more than 650,000 participants. Laughter Yoga consists of four parts. Stretching, clapping, laughter with breathing exercises, followed by relaxing and meditation. If you have not signed the waiver please do so now. Laughter Yoga is like any form of exercise and if you need to consult your doctor before you exercise, the same would apply to Laughter Yoga. So if you haven't ever signed the waiver, please go now, read it and sign it. Signing the waiver constitutes having read and agreed to the waiver.

What we're about

Laughter Clubs are the easiest, cheapest and happiest way to let your laughter run wild and be as silly or serious as you want while reaping health benefits at the same time. Each session typically consists of easy laughter exercises combined with yogic breathing and relaxation techniques. Our meetings are non-sectarian, non-religious and are free and open to all.

We meet every Thursday excluding holidays from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at Washington Street Community Center, 809 S Washington St Denver, CO 80209. We also meet (usually at an outdoor venue) every year on the first Sunday in May to celebrate World Laughter Day.

Clothing - whatever you are wearing right now is probably fine, something that allows free movement is best. [You should be able to lift your arms above your head without binding] Special yoga clothing is not necessary, willingness to laugh is.

Yoga mats, we have a few to share and you are welcome to bring your own.

We average 5-6 members per week, sometimes more. RSVPs are appreciated but not necessary, show up when and as you can and laugh!
