What we're about

Launceston Skeptics Inc. (http://www.launcestonskeptics.com/) (the association) is a non-profit organisation, which seeks to promote critical thinking and an understanding of the scientific method. The association aims to:

Stimulate discussion of scientific knowledge and other matters of interest, such as human rights and social issues;

Encourage citizens and representatives of the news media to adopt a critical attitude to claims, which are not supported by reason or credible scientific evidence; and

Conduct and participate in community events, providing information to the public in order to pursue the association’s objectives.

Launceston Skeptics Inc. vs Meetup.com

While anyone interested in critical thinking, member or not, is welcome to attend our informal get-togethers, non-members will, of course, not be entitled to vote at any formal meetings where official business of the Launceston Skeptics is to be conducted. Nor are they eligible to receive members’ discounts on admission to any of its functions.

We encourage members of the Meetup.com group, become members of Launceston Skeptics Inc.

To become a member, come along to one of our events – to find out more information or send us an enquiry.

Become a member of the Launceston Skeptics to support our work and get involved. (Membership Fee: $20.00 per year, July 1st – June 30th)
