    Lean Coffee (Pizza) Meeting Abstract This a structured, but agenda-less meeting. The topics that will be discussed are raised by the participants, agenda built, topics voted on and discussed in a structured manner and are time-boxed. Bring your ideas for discussion, areas you need guidance from your peers or any challenges you have with your Agile Journey. Come and share your experiences to help your peers, gain insight from your peers, help others and problem solve. Conversations are directed and productive because the agenda for the meeting is democratically generated.

  • Javascript Meetup: GatbsyJS - Getting Started (Part 1)

    This month, we are going to explore Gatsby, a free and powerful open-source website framework built on top of React. We will talk about the key differences between SPAs (single page applications), and Gatsby-powered apps, as well as the host of benefits that come with Gatsby. Additionally, we will cover the basic building blocks of Gatsby that you will need to start building your blazing fast website. Please feel free to bring your computers and code along with us. It is recommended that you have Node installed on your computer in advance. In part 2 (October 2019), we will dive more deeply into Gatsby, including source plugins, transformer plugins, creating pages from data, and more. JAM stacks (JavaScript, APIs, Markup) are all the rage these days and Gatsby is paving the way. If you have been interested in learning about Gatsby, this Meetup is for you. She has started a number of companies and performs her music on a global scale. In 2008, she wrote music for her first commercial for Monster.com, which debuted during the Super Bowl and won a Clio award for best music for a commercial. Rebecca founded Red Rabbit Music, a successful music school for beginner Violinists. In 2015 Rebecca shifted direction and started a new venture creating content and writing for blogs and websites, while refocusing her attention on her performance career, performing over 200 concerts and events per year. As an alumnus of the Forum, Ms. Cherry has become an Introduction Leader, and continues to expand her entrepreneurial interests; most recently forming her own real estate company.

    Join us for our August Presentation Night!! Layout Builder - A hands on exploratory session Presented by: Michael Marzovilla In this meetup, we will be diving into Drupal's Layout Builder module and exploring how it provides us with flexible, easy to mange layouts for our content types, pages, etc. We will have Stack Starter environments available for everyone to join in on the discovery and play along.     This month, we are going to fit in two presentations. First, Tim is going to cover the OWASP Top Ten list, which covers the most critical application security risks that you should be aware of as a developer. The OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) is a worldwide organization focused on improving the security of software. Among their flagship projects is the Top 10 application security risks project. We'll go over the most critical vulnerabilities that programmers must protect against in our web applications. Secondly, Johnathon is a Bootcamp student and will be presenting his first Ruby on Rails + JS application, which covers the following: - How to translate a JSON response from a Rails API into JS Model Objects - Rending pages asynchronously via JS and Active Model Serialization backend - Using the Fetch API to request resources, including POST request and using CSRF tokens Food and beverages will not be provided but there are plenty of great places to eat within walking distance.
