June Meetup: Learning to Code with Django Girls

Following this month's march for equal pay for women, we're excited to have the team behind Django Girls Lausanne join us.

We're doubly excited about our guests this month not only because are Liipers - our Lausanne WDS sponsor - but moreover because they are giving, sharing, inspiring all-around really great people.

Django Girls is a non-profit, 100% volunteer, organization making an impact to advance diversity in tech by providing free, 1-day programming workshops in HTML, Python, CSS, and Django for women.

Since 2014, Django Girls has organized 845 events, in more than 600 cities spanning 94 countries, giving more than 19,000 women the opportunity to learn to program applications.

Last year, Django Girls Lausanne welcomed 30 women for a 2-day event at Liip, empowering each one with the gift of code -- and we'll learn more about that as well how you can get started with coding.

Note! This is an excellent meetup to join if you are interested in programming but was never sure how to get started or what opportunities are available to you.

You can read more about the Liip team's work with Django girls here (inspiring post!) https://www.liip.ch/en/blog/addressing-the-gender-gap-with-django-girls
