What we're about
This is a fun group for young (and lazy) people in London who want to make new friends, expand their circles, and take part in cool events around the city!
We host a number of exciting events including board games, parties, quiz nights, after work drinks, outdoor events & loads more! People really love it!
-I'm new and never attended a meetup before, what kind of people will be there?
People who attend meetup are just regular folk like you and me, who want to meet new people and expand their social circle. Some people join because a busy lifestyle prevents them from trying new things with people. They also might be new to the city or the country and not know anyone. Also maybe they are students who have lost touch with their college or university friends and want to make new ones. All in all there are many reasons to join meetup but socialising is the focus.
-I don't have anyone to go with, can I turn up on my own?
Yes you absolutely can, and you wont be alone as 80% of members arrive by themselves or with someone they have met from meetup previously, its a lot of fun to be adventurous and meet new faces. The group is generally very welcoming but if you or the other members are feeling shy, the Organisers/Hosts will be here to introduce you and help you settle in.
-Do a lot of people go to these events?
Well we cant speak for other groups but overall meetup is extremely popular and growing every day. Our group, Lazy & Young is very popular and one of the most active young people's groups in London. We always have high turnouts (check our photo gallery), and overall great feedback.
-Do these events cost money? I'm on a bit of a budget.
We understand how expensive things can be when going out, but especially in London! That's why most of our regular events are not only free, but we work hard to get you discounts at venues and occasionally free stuff! We do charge for our premier events such as Pub Quiz, Speed Friending and some of our Parties. But we keep all entry fees £15 and below.
-I'm single and I would love to meet someone to date, can I find them at your events?
Most people who attend meetup do happen to be single (more free time I guess). But as per the guidelines of meetup.com we don't host 'dating events' or 'singles only parties' of any kind. The focus of meetup is socialising, community and friendship and we know how much pressure dating themed events can be even for those who are single and looking! That being said, we have a fairly relaxed attitude towards flirting and getting contact details with members you would like to see again, we only ask you keep this all very respectful and considerate of others feelings and boundaries.
Our hosts are always on hand to welcome everyone in & you can speak to them at any time if you need any assistance during an event.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
