Needs a location
LCPMG - Regarding the Levy Johnson Plantation meetup, the plantation is an old sugar cane plantation. It is being restored by the Texas Historical Commission. Our private visit will begin about 10:00 a.m. instead of noon. We will depart Borders Bookstore at 8;30 a.m. What a great opportunity to capture this project in its early stages.
If you wish to join in, reply with YES or send me an email. I will then send directions. Thanks! ~Trudy
Bryan Beach State Park is a very natural beach in Brazoria County near Quinana near Surfside. The area offers nice opportunities for bird photos and sunset photos.
Levi Jordan Plantation State Historical (http://www.visitlevijordanplantation.com/index.aspx?page=12) area, also in Brazoria County, was once the location of a large sugar plantation. Among historical remnants are slave quarters. The plantation (http://www.pbase.com/tracyjo/levi_jordan_plantation) is under renovation and the slave quarter area is undergoing archealotical review.
Plans are to visit the Levi Jordan Plantation first. However, I need a confirmed number of individuals who will attend. Please RSVP by Thursday, December 2, if you are able to attend the plantation visit.
Our tour will take place at noon on Saturday. We must enter and remain as a group. No amenities are present on site. Members replying with an affirmative confirmation were sent further directions to the site.
