This September, Lindsay Brown will walk us through her exploreMapPy project (https://github.com/LindsayBrown81/exploreMapPy/tree/c6627bd31194c9b70fb0cd38ecc49c2d0813f239), which puts DOT data for 52 states and territories in an interactive map published on http://www.ntpep.org (http://www.ntpep.org/). The project uses Python and JavaScript and makes use of svg, json, and other cool tools. It doesn't use a mapping API; rather, the map is comprised of 52 SVG shapes. Lindsay will cover topics like her design approach and how she tested the JS.

Lindsay Brown is a Web Development Specialist, looking to grow beyond her current SharePoint environment at her day job. She's interested in pursuing work that involves functional JavaScript, Python, and data visualization.
