Kanban basics

This is the first gathering of the Limited WIP Society - Manchester branch. Ian Carroll will give a brief introduction to Kanban and share some experiences of how teams have embraced Kanban.

We have representation from many organisations currently using Kanban so as always the most interesting bit of the night will be the discussions that follow!

Off to a great start, I didn't get chance to mingle afterwards because I had an hours train journey home. But a great bunch of enthusiastic people with some great experiences to share. I'd like to see us have more of an openspace style gathering next time so that we can get more out of the time we hav together.

Really good since this was the first event for the group, several of us after the meeting ended up going for a few drinks and a chinese. Which extended the conversation.

Great into and good games and discussion after that. Would love to see more people from different parts of delivery though e.g. product owners, BA, etc.

Good start though a bit succinct for those who have never done Kanban. Would have been good to explore how a kanban standup is different from a traditional one ie focus is on tasks not people hence why a 40 people standup takes only 7min. Also We need to be conscious that these sessions don't turn into rant sessions about how crap our working env are. Totally agree about sharing our experiences especially at MS and have guest speakers

Really great to meet other organisations starting out with Kanban and hearing the experiences of others. Can't wait for the next meet up.
