How did you hear about DCLSC?

Dean Chang @ UMd's MTech Ventures, Craig Dye @ UMd's VentureAccelerator, and Jim Chung @ GWU's Office of Entrepreneurship.

What do you hope to get from -- and/or give to -- DCLSC?

Been working with some entrepreneurs in Venture Mentors ( and FounderCorps ( on some seminar ideas (involving Lean Startup thinking/methods). Target audience is the 30+ companies in Mason's incubator as well as the hundreds of other companies that come through Mason Enterprise Center each year. Want to supplement, not duplicate DCLSC activities.

What is your specialty (or specialties) with respect to start-ups?

I advise software startups on early stage financing, managing growth, and (eventually) "Zen and The Art of M&A"

Entrepreneur-in-Residence @ George Mason University. Teach MBA 719 Entrepreneurship Lab. Advise several lean SaaS startups. Managing Director of non-profit Venture Mentors (www.venturementors.org)

What John C. is saying about this Meetup Group

I don't THINK I impress very easily, and I was quite impressed. VERY glad I attended.
