Co-founders Mixer

  • Nov 9, 2011 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This is the inaugural mixer organized by K5. The theme is "Find your co-founders".

This event is intended for entrepreneurs who are looking for partners or co-founders for their technology driven startups. To facilitate the meetup, we will provide color coded name tags for you at the door to identify the area of yours expertise.

Agenda:

5:30 Registration and Networking

6:30 Guest Speakers and Founder Presentations

7:30 Q&A

8:00 Networking

Speakers:

We will have two special guest speakers from Silicon Valley: Bjoern Hermann and Max Marmer, co-founders of the startup genome project

Originally from Germany, Bjoern Herrmann, 26, is a purpose driven entrepreneur. Bjoern co-founded blackbox to find a scalable way to accelerate startups and innovation. In August blackbox released the Startup Genome Compass - a monthly benchmarking tool for startups. Prior to his latest venture, Bjoern founded and led four companies in Germany, Bangladesh and the United States, as well as worked as an executive in Russia for one year. His personal passion is unleashing human potential, which he exercises in his free time by teaching entrepreneurship and advising numerous startups.

A native of the Bay Area, Max Marmer, 21, is driven by working on the biggest problems he can find. Max co-founded blackbox to increase the success rate of startups by turning entrepreneurship into a science when he realized entrepreneurs would increasingly be the biggest drivers of societal progress. Max is constantly thinking about how to reinvent society’s antiquated structures for a 21st century that will be powered by information technology. Previously he was obsessed with reinventing the education system before realizing empowering entrepreneurs would have more impact. He left Stanford as a freshman last fall to work full time on growing the Startup Genome Project.

Being a meetup organizer myself, this meetup set a high bar. In a little over 1 month, they attracted nearly 300 members with first event more than 230 attendees. They proved that OC has a vibrant startup community, the leadership team was right on with their vision. Let's roll...
