Hacking 101: Creating a Virtual Lab This 101 will introduce a tool for creating a controlled penetration testing environment. A VirtualBox is a Virtual Machine (VM) and is an operating system or application environment that is installed and used for the purpose of imitating dedicated hardware. The user will have the same experience on the VM that they would have on the dedicated hardware. This allows the user to set up their own virtual hacking lab, in which they can conduct pen testing and improve their hacking skills without any fear of legal repercussions. Visualizing data and using tools to find subtle and imperceptible differences in data have become very important in finding and hunting threats in cybersecurity.Come and try your hand at a few simple beginning exercises which will have you looking at pictures and data in a different way. We recommend that you bring a system with Windows 7-10 for hands-on practice, but no materials are required when attending. This basic introductory workshop will introduce individuals who have no prior experience in the science and art of visualizing data within the context of Cybersecurity.
