What we're about
This group is for everyone curious about economics, regardless of prior knowledge.
There are various traditions of economic thought, of which we find the Vienna School the most convincing, due to its predictive track record and elegant theoretical edifice. It was founded by Carl Menger (group photo) and most prominently represented by Ludwig von Mises and Friedrich A. Hayek. It goes without saying that critical questions and objections from any other perspective are always welcome.
A great introduction to the principles of sound economic thinking is given in the videos The Broken Window Fallacy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG4jhlPLVVs) (here with Spanish subtitles) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlT7qaOif58) and I, Pencil (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYO3tOqDISE). The best primer is Economics in One Lesson (https://mises.org/library/economics-one-lesson).
You can learn more about the Viennese tradition of economic thinking in our Pages (http://www.meetup.com/Learn-Economics-Meetup-Madrid/about/) section.
