Calling all working web developers and aspiring coders! Join us at Galvanize for a unique opportunity to get the basics on React JS, one of the most popular libraries for building seamless user interfaces.

The fast rendering speed and functional approach make React a great choice if you're looking to speed up your workflow with JavaScript.

This talk will discuss how to create your own React components and will introduce the concept of the virtual DOM. We'll also cover core concepts like props and state.

What You Will Learn:
-React.js basics
-How to create components using React
-How to use props in React components

Class Agenda:
6 pm - 6:30 pm: Introductions, food, networking
6:30 pm - 8:15 pm: Hands-on React Workshop, Q&A

Attendees will be most successful with experience in HTML and JavaScript, but students at all levels are welcome to attend.

Meet the Instructor:
Sean Helvey is an Associate Instructor at Galvanize Boulder. Sean started coding in quantitative finance classes at Cal Poly SLO and built option pricing models on Wall Street before completing a Master's Degree in Computer Science at NYU's Courant Institute.

Sean has over 5 years of experience as a software engineer. Most recently he developed machine learning systems at Pearson before finding his dream job at Galvanize. In his free time, Sean loves planning surf trips and functional programming.
