Back in 2012, the Harvard Business Review called Data Science “the sexiest job of the 21st Century.” Six years later, the job has only gotten sexier. And while interest from job seekers is growing, Indeed research shows job postings are growing even faster.

Within the greater field of Data Science, Natural Language Processing (NLP) is being adopted at an accelerated rate into the workflow of many companies. NLP is responsible for enhancing critical aspects of customer service, chatbots, reputation monitoring, sentiment analysis, ad placement, and market intelligence — making future employees with this skillset a valuable commodity.

Join us as Lauren Washington dives into the present and future of NLP, exploring how we can use our computational tools to enhance communication between humans and organizations across all business markets. We will be explaining some foundational concepts within the NLP space, how companies like Google and Facebook use it, and why it’s a useful skill for aspiring data scientists. We’ll also introduce some resources to help you get started with Natural Language Processing.
