Please RSVP for this event using the following link:

Are you confident you can knock it out of the park in a certain role, but your resume doesn’t include the listed requirements? When you’re seeking to pivot from one industry or career to another, sometimes it can be challenging to position yourself for a role you know you’d excel in.

In this workshop, Career Happy™ (a Kay & Black Talent Management company) will share a career coach and recruiter’s perspective on how to navigate a successful career transition in the creative industry.

With over 25 years of experience in the advertising and creative industries, they help candidates and clients at the crossroads of transitions and opportunities every day. Over the course of thousands of job placements and career transitions made, they know a thing or two about how to reinvent yourself, and how to always continue to highlight your strengths and grow your skills.

Hillary, Kathryn, and Leslie have each gone through several of their own career evolutions as well. They will share personal stories and experiences with career pivots and transitions, provide tips and tricks they’ve picked up along the way, and answer your audience questions.

Colors of Cafecito: The Diversity of Latinidad | September 28

Please RSVP for this event using the following link:

This event is part of GA's Latinx Heritage Month: ¡Atrévete!

A month-long fiesta to showcase Hispanic and Latinx communities and celebrating the positive impact that they have made on modern US history. And, for the first time, General Assembly will offer our award-winning tech workshops en Español, taught by Latinx leaders!

The U.S. Hispanic/Latino population is complex. Some of us identify as Latinx, Latino/a, Hispanic, Tejano, Nuyorican, Afro-Cuban, Mexican-American, Quisqueyano, Chicana, among many other terms.

According to the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement, our Latinx community represent over 27 countries of origin. Some speak Spanish, some of are immigrants, some are Latinx but not hispanic, some are second and third generations, and do not speak Spanish.. and this intricacy is best understood as intersectionality. Intersectionality is the way all of our multiple identities or diversity dimensions intersect. The consideration of intersectionality allows for awareness in not considering groups singularly but in various classes and as individuals.

This event will be a carrousel of Latinx stories, sharing the perspectives of different members of our community that often hear phrases like: You Don’t Look Latina!, Oh! I didn't think you were [insert nationality], you don't look it, and other experiences of colorism or marginalization within our own communities.
