Honestly, I am spoiled by Delphi and Flex. It's like 2-way IDE technology has taken a big step backwards. I don't blame Android Studio IDE for that; it's mostly Google's choices. One can easily create an onClick handler (a normal method called when the user clicks), but every other event involves finding the component, calling a mutator to assign a listener, and overriding/implementing all of that listener's methods just to add a few lines of code to the event one wants. It reminds me of pre-Delphi Windows coding where one had to reference resources. I'm going to look at the new Delphi; supposedly it creates native APK's now.

I didn't unfortunately get much of a chance to learn a lot in Android Development but very glad that this Meetup happened, since it was hard for me to set up the tools.

Tim and Nathan make it wonderfully easy to learn, and I love the mix of practical exercises interspersed into the teaching of concepts and how-tos. They have a thoughtful approach that is rare in my experience so far!
