You will also hear from our Career Services Team who work with our students throughout the program to develop important personal branding, networking, and interviewing skills as well as helping students with job placement after graduation. In addition, our Enrollment Team will be present to answer questions regarding the admissions process and student onboarding. After the panel, we will open up for audience Q&A where you can get those burning questions answered. Our highly motivated students come from a variety of backgrounds such as data analysis, engineering, mathematics, and more. These data science students are selected for their quantitative ability, programming experience, communication skills, and data science potential. In this program, students expand on their impressive backgrounds with 13 weeks of hands-on, project-based, data science training in our program. If you would like to learn more about becoming a Data Scientist with us on June 4th and visit our website. As a sneak peak before the event check out our DSI Graduate Testimonials. Zoom Logistics For this national event, we will be utilizing Zoom. It is important to maintain a sense of professionalism so we can set high expectations for our capstone showcase. Learn Alongside the Brightest Minds Our highly motivated students come from a variety of backgrounds like data analysis, engineering, and mathematics. You’ll learn to code alongside a cohort of driven peers and develop meaningful connections with our world-renowned faculty and career services team, who come together to help you identify strengths, define goals, and connect you to our 2,250+ hiring partners.

Graph Database & Modeling for Kaggle COVID-19 Dataset [LIVE ONLINE]

RSVP THROUGH THIS EVENTBRITE FOR THE ZOOM LINK: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/graph-database-modeling-for-kaggle-covid-19-dataset-live-online-tickets-106777612714 How You Can Help With COVID-19 Research Thanks to the request made by The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, we now have free access to the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset, the most extensive machine-readable Coronavirus literature collection available for data and text mining to date. The institutions that brought this comprehensive dataset together have chosen Kaggle to be the platform for the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset Challenge. Due to the rapid increase in coronavirus literature, folks from the medical community are having difficulty identifying which articles or papers would be the most useful for their research. You can help by connecting insights across the body of literature and find a solution for the research community. The Kaggle submission deadline is June 16, 2020, at 11:59 pm UTC. To read more about the rules and eligibility requirements, visit here: https://www.kaggle.com/cord-19-rules-accept-form Workshop Description This workshop is focused on learning how to process text and make your text-based data actionable. Think Google search on top of your text documents. We will be conducting natural language processing (NLP) on biomedical literature abstracts, more specifically papers published around COVID-19. The NLP will extract entities (words and phrases) from the abstracts and also provide a class they link to. Once we have the entities extracted, we will then semantically link the text in a graph database allowing us to run analytical insights on that data. Target Audience Beginners are welcome! We Will Cover: SciSpacy a Natural Language Processing (NLP) tool Google Colab (a python environment) Intro to TigerGraph (a graph database) Graph data modeling Graph algorithms Tech requirements: This session is held online through Zoom video conference. Attendees will need to have their own laptops. Windows, Mac or Linux will do it! Have the Zoom Client for Video Meetings installed well before the webinar begins Held live online: 2 Hours – 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Pacific Time / 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Central Time A link to join the virtual classroom will be provided to you via email once you RSVP on Eventbrite.
