Witness a baby turtle cmg out of egg & finding way to sea: Velas Turtle Festival

What we'll do: Velas is a small village in Ratnagiri district which is famous for the Olive Ridley turtle population that visits the Velas beach every year and lays their eggs. At Velas, turtle conservation movement is undertaken by the villagers. An NGO named Sahyadri Nisargmitra and the villagers committee has taken the initiative to conserve olive ridley turtles by providing protection to their eggs. Witnessing a baby turtle coming out of the egg and then finding its way to the sea by those baby steps is an unforgettable moment. Brahmatal: an alluring snow trek

Brahmatal is a classic snow trek, the trek leads you to a beautiful lake at over 10,000 Feet and eventually we summit the peak nearby called Brahmatal Peak, the trek is perfect in winters as the lake freezes and the background is lined by seven thousand of the mighty Himalayan Range. The trek is made even interesting as the route of going and coming back is different and hence offering new views every day. Itinerary: (tentative) Day 0: Reach Delhi Fly from your respective city and reach Delhi by night 8:00 PM on 20th March. We will board the train to Kathgodam. Day 1: Drive from Kathgodam to Lohajung (7,600 ft, 210 km/10 hrs) We will leave from Kathgodam by 6:30 am and reach Lohajung approximately by 6:00 pm. Lohajung serves as the base for Brahmatal Trek, the best way to reach Lohajung is to drive from Kathgodam. Once you reach Lohajung, you can see the beautiful Nanda Ghunti peak We would be staying overnight in a homestay. Day 2: Trek from Lohajung(7,600 ft) to Bekaltal(9,689 ft) / (6km/5hrs) After breakfast we start our trek to Bekaltal. As you climb higher on this part of Brahmtal Trek, on your left you will be able to see the Kail Valley and magnificent views of Nandaghunti Peak. Day 3: Trek from Bekaltal (9,689 ft) to Brahmatal Base (10,440 ft)/ 7 kms/6 hrs Today, we start our day with hot tea and breakfast. The trail starts out of the campsite and begins to climb steeply into the Oak and Rhododendron forest. It opens up to a beautiful meadow. From here, it is a very gradual descent to Brahmatal. All through the days trek you will see the Almora, Nainital side of the valley. Day 4: Trek from Brahmatal Base (10,440 ft) to Brahmatal Peak (12,250 ft) and back (8 kms/ 8 hrs) This climb is a challenging one as it will be an early morning summit push. The trekkers will get a perfect reward for this effort with breathtaking sunrise view. It starts with a 40 minute climb through the mixed forests. Trekkers head towards Brahmatal Top. As you reach the summit an entire panorama of mountains opens up. You have Nilgiri, Neelkant, Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and Maiktoli stretching to some of the mountains of the Panchachuli range. You can fill your soul with the awe-inspiring views of greater Himalayas. Reach back by evening and camp for the night. Day 5: Trek from Brahmatal (10,440 ft) to Lohajung(7,600 ft)/ (8 kms/ 7 hrs) The descent from Brahamatal to Lohajung takes about 7 hours. After 20-30 minutes, you will reach Malling, which is outside the forest area. You will find the stone laid Brahmatal trekking trail, which will lead you to Lohajung. Day 6: Lohajung to Kathgodam drive We start our 10 hour long drive from Lohajung to Kathgodam after breakfast. The drive would be one a kind with pine forests and rivers as your view as your drive down. We will stop for lunch in between to enjoy food in the midst of such beauty. We will reach Kathgodam by 8:00 pm and we will board the train back to Delhi. Cost: ₹12,300/- Inclusions: Transport from Delhi to Delhi and return. (Sleeper class train till Kathgodam and Tempo traveller/ bolero to base village depending upon the group size. 02 Night Homestay / Guest House accommodation in Lohajung on triple / quad sharing basis. 03 Nights tented accommodation on triple sharing basis. All veg meals on all the trek days. Morning – Evening Tea/Coffee with light snacks. All fees like forest camping charges and trekking permit (for Indians).
