The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) is dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Organized in 1881 and chartered by Congress in 1954, we are the legal successor to the Grand Army of the Republic. We honor and commemorate those who gave their lives to save the union and exterminate the evil of slavery. We engage in living history, public education and participation in civic events. We raise funds to place markers on unmarked civil war graves in New Hampshire and Vermont.
