A friendly, open, non-academic meetup for people who like to talk about interesting stuff, possibly over a glass of something.
If you've ever wondered 'What makes a good life' or whether 'schools kill creativity' or even '10 things you didn't know about orgasm', then you may have stumbled across TED talks before.
You may have even found yourself binge watching these bite-sized nuggets of intellectual delight for hours on end before trying to share your enthusiasm for knowledge with a friend or a partner, only to find you couldn't captivate them in quite the same way. "It's waaaay more interesting if you listen to the guy explain - I've sent you the link!"
Well that's me anyway. I love these things, but often struggle to find people who want to shoot the breeze about the bigger quesitons in life.
I hope to hold regular meetups where we can discuss a TED talk watched in advance. That way, everyone will be on the same page and we can come with any new ideas and let the conversation go from there.
In addition to this, following a re-purposing of the group, there will also be additional regular social activities hosted, such as Saturday Catch up in a local independent coffee bar, and Sunday lunch at one of the local eateries.
