Upcoming events (2)
Light Night is always a great event for capturing some amazing images.
We'll explore and photograph several of the main zones in the City Centre - Full details here: https://whatson.leeds.gov.uk/lightnight/Home
I'll be providing guidance on camera settings, composition, etc.
If you've never been to Light Night, you're missing a treat.
Whether you're a beginner or experienced enthusiast, this event gives you the perfect opportunity to explore the exhibits, get some great shots and work in the company of other group members.
What you'll need....
- A camera......even a phone will do!
- A tripod (optional, but not absolutely necessary)
And, don't forget to have a memory card and a charged battery.
There's a small charge of £4.50 per person to cover guidance and support, Meetup costs and Paypal charges.
We'll meet on the steps at the front of the Town Hall at 7:00pm
Three Hour introduction – £30 per person. Perfect for beginners (Usually £39 per person through my website) .
The session will cover:
Basic camera settings;
• Shutter Priority,
• Aperture Priority,
• white balance,
• depth of field,
• use of flash and
• exposure compensation.
You’ll learn basic principles of photography, with the emphasis on practical work to help develop and consolidate your learning.
Although I can’t promise to offer personal guidance on the use of every make camera – there are far too many makes and models for me to have detailed knowledge of them all – I'll do my best to provide clear advice on main features available on the majority of equipment. Using your own camera, you’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and apply your learning to the specific features available on your make and model.
Practical work is based around Covid safe and Socially Distanced group activities within the studio, designed to help you gain confidence in how different camera settings affect the final image.
You’ll also receive Handouts from each session along with ongoing support, via email, for 28 days after your workshop.
What you’ll need:
• DSLR or Bridge camera (Compact Camera users may attend but may find many features are limited)
• Charged battery
• An empty memory card (don’t forget to clear any images from it in advance)
• Instruction Manual (Full version is possible)
Please note: In the event numbers being below 5 in the group, we reserve the right to cancel and rearrange the event with a minimum 24 hours notice.
