What we're about

This group is designed for young professionals in the City who would like to socialise, meet new people, try new things, build professional networks, learn a new skills, maybe find the love of your life and most importantly have fun. In other words this group can be whatever you want it to be! Hakuna Mattata

Whether you are new to the City, passing through or Leeds born and bred, you are welcome to every event.

What is a Young Professional?

Anyone between 21-35 as a baseline (Not that we’ll be checking IDs!) and to be honest we don’t care about the professional part but it gives us an identity :)

Everyone is welcome to all events, If you can go put attending, if you can’t then don’t respond or put not attending. Simple.

Membership fee:

Don’t be silly! This group will always be free.

We want this group to be a fun, welcoming environment where everyone can be themselves. Any type of aggressive behaviour/ harassment/ discrimination etc at an event will result in banishment from the group. Zero tolerance.

A word from Mike:

I have just moved to Leeds and am looking to meet new people and experience everything Leeds has to offer. I have previously worked as an event manager & have been on the leadership team of the North East Young Professionals group that puts 3-4 events on per week and has over 3500 members so want to put that experience to use.

I am looking for more event organisers to build diversity with events and grow this group over time so drop me a message with an idea eg. Ladies night, Yoga in the park, Bowling etc and we can make it happen!

Pool and Table Tennis @ Roxys (Boar Lane)

Roxy Ball Room Boar Lane

Following on from the cosy club we’re going for something a bit different, with a bit more of a competitive edge to blow off some steam. Or you’re more than welcome to just come and have a drink and a chat while you witness how bad I am at Ping Pong. I've booked out an area for us for 3 hours. This provides us with unlimited use of two pool tables and a ping pong table within that duration. 6.30 - Meet for drinks at The Conservatory 7.30 - Roxys 10.30 - End of meet-up, but more than happy to continue on elsewhere Please note, to cover the booking costs the attendance fee is £2. This will be collected on entry to Roxy’s Link (page 8): https://www.roxyballroom.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/RBR_LDS_Boar_Lane_Group_Bookings_Brochure_WEB.pdf

The Otley Run - Pub Crawl

Woodies Craft Ale House

The Otley run is a rite of passage for anyone moving to Leeds. One of the most famous pub crawls in the country; thousands of people do it every weekend 16 pubs/bars - 30 mins each - 1 half pint per bar. That is the challenge I am setting myself and anyone who wants to join me! (Feel free to tag along to cheer me on though) See the route here: https://chillisauce.com/blog/post-a3f06dea47ac7e241106 The pubs will be as follows: Woodies Craft Ale House The Three Horseshoes The New Inn The Headingley Taps Manahatta The Box The Skyrack The Original Oak The Hyde Park The Library The Packhorse The Eldon LUU The Fenton Strawbs The Dry Dock Fancy dress is a tradition for the run. There will be no theme as it’s expensive to buy new costumes you’ll use once so make use of whatever you have. I will probably regret this as I am a massive lightweight! Mike
