7/7/2017 - Amtrak update: Please call April Proffitt (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008499541692) today if you are doing the train trip. [masked]

Also, please note that LOTS of the Divas are flying home. This actually is fine with me. It will be less expensive to fly home with my Southwest points. If you fly home, you are responsible for your own flight.

We are working with a few hotels right now. Now that most are flying home, that will probably change our hotel plan a bit. April (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008499541692) will be able to book you after we decide.

TRIP INSURANCE: There is trip insurance. That being said, please do not book this trip unless you are 100% committed. It's like a campground -- we are booking a block of rooms but if you cancel, someone we don't know will be able to "swoop in" and be in the middle of our party. I feel sorry for that person ;)

*****************************************************

PLEASE NOTE: EVEN THOUGH YOU RSVP "YES" TO THIS EVENT, YOU ARE NOT BOOKED UNTIL YOU HAVE PAID FOR YOUR TRIP THROUGH APRIL PROFFITT

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT PRICES WILL FLUCTUATE -- AND THEY WILL MOST LIKELY GO UP.

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK UNLESS YOU ARE 100% CERTAIN YOU CAN MAKE THE TRIP.

ALL FEES ARE SUBJECT TO THE KIM WITHERS RULE AND ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

THANKS! :)

We've talked about it long enough and it's happening! We are taking the party up the Pacific Coast on the Coast Starlight (https://www.amtrak.com/ccurl/408/807/Amtrak-Coast-Starlight-Train-Route-Guide-2014.pdf)

The train leaves Los Angeles at 10:00 AM on Sunday, March 25th and arrives in Seattle the next evening (Monday) at 8:00 PM.

The original plan was to arrive Monday night at 8:00 and spend a full day (Tuesday) sightseeing in Seattle and then board the train Wednesday morning and arrive in Los Angeles Thursday evening. This is still an option, but lots of Divas are saying they want to take the train up to Seattle, spend a few nights and fly home. This is perfectly fine – however you will need to make your own flight arrangements from Seattle to your hometown.

COST: Costs will vary depending on your itinerary. The prices fluctuate just like the airlines. There will be a $25 event fee

ALL FEES ARE SUBJECT TO THE KIM WITHERS RULE AND ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

Approximate costs for a one way fare on March 25, 2018 from LAX to SEA (as of July 7, 2017)

HOTEL ROOMS (Seattle): The hotel will be an additional cost. We are booking a block of rooms in Seattle. We still haven’t signed on the dotted line, but we are working on a Hilton brand hotel. You can also make your own plans if you want to stay with friends or family, Airbnb etc….

Transfers to and from the hotel will be an extra cost (TBD)

We are requesting all Divas to wear yellow shirts. There are different cars, levels, etc....Other than looking for a bunch of loud women drinking Lemon Drops, this will be the only way to easily figure out who is in our group.

TRAIN STATIONS/STOPS: When the train stops, it stops to pick up passengers. That's it. No time to check out each city.

There will be 26 stops - in this order:

Los Angeles, CA - Union Station (LAX)

Burbank, CA - Bob Hope (BUR)

Van Nuys, CA (VNC)

Simi Valley, CA (SIM)

Oxnard, CA (OXN)

Santa Barbara, CA (SBA)

San Luis Obispo, CA (SLO)

Paso Robles, CA (PRB)

Salinas, CA - Downtown (SNS)

San Jose, CA (SJC)

Oakland, CA - Jack London Square (OKJ)

Emeryville, CA (EMY)

Martinez, CA (MTZ)

Davis, CA (DAV)

Sacramento, CA (SAC)

Chico, CA (CIC)

Redding, CA (RDD)

Vancouver, WA (VAN)

Kelso, WA - Longview (KEL)

Centralia, WA (CTL)

Lacey, WA - Olympia (OLW)

Tacoma, WA (TAC)

Seattle, WA - King Street Station (SEA)

The hotel is an additional cost.

Keep in mind if you are boarding the train farther north, you wouldn't necessarily need a room. For example, if you were boarding in Klamath Falls, that would be at 8:00 in the morning and we will get to Seattle at 8:00 PM that night. A coach seat doesn't have the food included but you can buy food on the train. The cost would be considerably less than someone coming from Southern California.

After RSVPing "Yes" please contact April Proffitt to book your trip.
