The Sustainable Living Project

  • This location is shown only to members

The Sustainable Living Project produces fresh produce for the "food insecure" in the Tampa area.

How we will LEND A HAND

We will visit this sustainable garden project to learn about what they do to help our community. We'll also dig in and get our hands dirty helping in any way they need - mixing compost, weeding, trimming plants, laying mulch, building new raised beds, etc.

It can get very hot working outside, please plan accordingly!

10am - 12am

What to bring:

• Please wear casual, comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes that can get dirty

• Sunscreen, a hat, or anything to protect yourself from the sun

• A bottle of water for yourself

• A warm smile!

• If you would like to donate more than your time, feel free to bring some compostable kitchen scraps or leaves to contribute to the compost bin (seriously, they need it!).

Directions and Parking:

Click the link in the location above to see a map to the event location. It's right across the street from Lowry Park Zoo.

Other Important Information:

If you are bringing a guest, please provide his/her name in the comments.

This is a child-friendly event, so bring the kids! You must monitor your child at all times, and be fully responsible for them. Please note if you will bring a child (and child's age) along with your RSVP.

Additional information about Lend a Hand events, such as RSVPing, bringing guests, waiting lists, and last-minute dropouts is located on the 'Terms of Membership' page, please familiarize yourself with our current policies and procedures:

Join us and open your heart to LEND A HAND!

Please consider this seriously before you RSVP, it is very important that we have an accurate count a couple of days in advance to provide to the organization. Last-minute drop-outs are difficult to replace and reflect badly on our organization.

Is this Meetup full?

Just click 'Notify me' and you will be notified if a spot opens up. This will help us fill spots that open up due to late dropouts!

Great question, Cord! If it is raining in the morning we will cancel. I live near the garden, so I will check the weather. If we have to cancel, I will update the event here by 9:00am at the latest.
