According to the official website "the 2013 London Ice Sculpting Festival will be the biggest yet, spread across 3 Days in Jubilee Park, Montgomery Square and the stunning, new, adjacent Wood Wharf!
Everyone loves the Festival’s Masterclasses so we have organised many more of those which will also take place above ground and in the shopping malls.
For the 2013 Festival there will be 12 International Teams competing against the clock
New for 2013 will be the Graffiti Wall where adults can release the inner Banksy on a specially constructed ice wall - details to be announced.
The Snow Pit will be back - bigger than ever so more children and adults can have even more fun!
Live Music on the Festival Stage will be new for 2013, bringing yet another attraction to this exciting Festival - details coming soon.
The large, outdoor Ice Chess will be a new source of great fun and, probably, drama too where adults can try out their strategic chess moves in the manner of the Grand Masters, Kasparov or Britain’s Gawain Jones; exact details will be announced shortly.
New Food Facilities on an Alpine theme - more details to follow".
What this all means for us is that we will have lots to shoot, we'll be in good company and apart from some really nice hot chocolate there will be a chance to have our own photographs taken by members of the group as we participate in some of the activities on the day.
Once we arrive at Canary Wharf we will have a quick briefing where we will share some tips. We will also confirm times and meeting points before wondering off in small groups.
This is a free Meetup and you will probably end up spending around £15 - £20 on the day which will include your travel card and a bite to eat. However there is no harm in taking along a flask of soup and a fresh roll
