Friendsgiving @ Rasika = Yum! Perhaps high-end Indian food will be on your Thanksgiving menu or you wish it would be. Either way - join us! Rasika is a modern Indian Cuisine restaurant showcasing Tawa (Griddle), Sigri (open Barbeque), Tandoori and regional dishes. Come see why this is highly sought after restaurant is among the few most well-regarded Indian restaurants in DC, and lets talk turkey and travel over a fantastic meal.
Have you ever traveled to a state fair but it was just what you and the family did when that time of year came around? Well why not see what the DC Fair has to offer? The DC State Fair is a free showcase of the District’s agricultural and creative talents and a daylong celebration of all things homegrown.
Let's meet and enjoy something you normally don't find in the city. The activity starts at 11AM but there is something special about going to the fair at night. More information can be found here: http://www.dcstatefair.org/
I want a few select people to gather and talk about this group, what you want, what you like, what you don't like. Are you willing to join in and organize? Looking for people who like to travel and just have fun. I have chosen a space for us to use that has free WiFi, water, tea, coffee for a 2 hour time limit at one of the Wework sites in DC. Walk in and walk out whenever during our time. Bring your ideas, laptops, paper and pens.
I wanted to get to get together and tell you about my tour out of the country, how happy I am to back and catch up with all of you. I want to hear about where you have been while I was away and where you want to go! Come prepared with at least one location you that you really want to see in person! I am setting a limit because I want to call in advance and get us a reservation, I know this place is good.

Let's journey to beautiful Savannah, GA next Memorial Day Weekend! Typically, travelers cover their own costs transportation and share housing costs (i.e., a Homeaway or Airbnb residence). Let me know - thanks!
For this trip, travelers can expect to have fun sampling local restaurants, tour the historic district, and go on day cruises and day trips to Tybee Island and/or the Hilton Head - with plenty of time for doing their own thing as well as group activities. Here is an itinerary to consider:
Friday May 25th and Saturday May 26th:
During the day we can tour Savannah - it has everything you could need: shopping on Broughton Street, bars on River Street, green shaded squares on nearly every corner and culture throughout. To cover more ground and learn more about the city, there are any number of tours that we can take: riverboat tours, ghost/dead of night tours, hop/hop off tours, food tours. In the evening, there will be The Crawl of the South - largest event of its kind!
Sunday May 27th:
We will day trip to Hilton Head: a beautiful island resort off the southern end of South Carolina, Hilton Head Island is just 20 miles or a 40 minute drive north of Savannah. The island is interlaced with an extensive network of trails so that you can easily explore it by bike or on foot. Plenty of time for visiting the pristine beaches, shopping at the Shelter Cove Town Center or the Village at Wexford, hiking at the Pickney Island Wildlife Refuge as well as water/adventure sports through several companies (kayaking, water skiing, etc). Dining and live music options (i.e., Jazz Corner) abound!
We can also take part in a tour to learn more about the Gullah – a West African based system of traditions, customs, beliefs, art forms and family life that has been passed down through from generation to generation - unique to South Carolina.
Monday May 28th:
Day Trip to Tybee Island. Savannah is home to a beautiful stretch of sand just outside town. It is about 18 miles or about a 30 minute drive from Savannah. There are multiple ways to get there: driving, taxis or ride shares. What is there to do on Tybee? There are miles of beach; excellent dining options; tons of unique shops and markets; for the history buff, several forts and museums to explore, a iconic must-see old lighthouse; kayaks and bikes to rent to explore the island – something for everyone.
