Thunder Canyon Falls day trip

Thunder Canyon isn't as grand or spectacular as Indian Creek, but it’s REALLY special all-the-same and its falls are awesome. If we go there I’ll want to overshoot the Canyon turn-off by a mile or so first and explore a cave I haven’t been in yet. I understand it’s a big one with waterfall inside. I’m guessing the round trip will be about ~ 6 mostly easy miles along side Cecil Creek (multiple crossings required so prepare to get wet).

The only way I know how to get to the trailhead involves fording the Buffalo (very scary when the water is up at all) or 4-wheeling it down what the locals call "the trail" from Compton. My Excursion will haul 7 and their gear pretty comfortably.

We'll meet at the Evans Road Phillips 66 just south of Springfield on 65 at 7:00 am if people are willing to meet that early (I can be talked into going a little later).

I've heard the falls may be down to a trickle, but it'll still be pretty and maybe we'll get a nice rain between now and then.
