It is my pleasure to invite you to our first Blues Jam of the year on Wednesday, January 30th, from 7-9 pm! The jam will be held at the Levine School of Music NW DC campus, 2801 Upton St NW, in the Lang Auditorium. I will be joined in teaching the class by drummer William Waikart and bassist/Levine faculty Christopher Brown.
As always, the class will be two hours, the first hour focused more on the basics of playing the blues, and the second hour more on jamming. All skill levels and instruments are welcome, though the instruction is skewed heavily towards guitar. Amplifiers are provided for those who wish to play electric guitar or bass, though you are of course welcome and encouraged to bring your own. The event is FREE for currently enrolled Levine students, $5 otherwise.
There will be many more of these jams this year, future dates include: 3/27/13 (MD campus), 4/27/13 (Sat, VA Campus, 2 pm), and 6/26/13 (NW Campus)
I am pleased to say we will also be offering several classes this semester (starting the week of February 3rd), including Rock Band for Adults, Teens, and Youth, as well as Advanced and Intro Blues Guitar group classes.
