What we’re about
We are a fun, friendly, open-minded, progressive-thinking group of baby boomers. You should be a Baby Boomer (born 1946 through 1966) and live in or near the Kansas City area. Our list of activities include stimulating discussions, socializing, dining out, pot luck/game nights, movies, cocktails, exploring new places, theater, concerts and more. Couples as well as singles are welcome. This is not just for women. Men, don't be shy about joining.
This is an awesome group of quality people, easy to get to know, intelligent, stimulating conversationalists, and we have a lot of fun at our meetups! Join us in building great and lasting relationships with like-minded people. We welcome your input and suggestions for recreating and designing this group as we go along.
In consideration to the organizers and other members, please be conscientious regarding your RSVPs. If you RSVP "yes" and find you cannot make a meetup, change it to "no" in consideration of our other members at least 24 hours prior to the start of the meetup. Frequent last-minute cancellations for a meetup may cause you to be removed from our group.
If you are a no-show to a restaurant dinner, lunch or brunch meetup, and do not change your RSVP to no, you "may" be removed from the group.
We do offer a 60-day free trial. New members will need to attend a meetup that is in a public venue before you can attend a meetup that is held at a private residence. If you have joined our group previously, and used your 60-day trial, you will be put in "pending" members and be unable to RSVP until you pay the yearly $7 dues. The yearly dues pays for Meetup's yearly fee.
Note: You need to have a recent, "recognizable" picture of yourself, just you, with your Meetup profile for our group. No far distance pictures, no huge dark glasses or blurry pictures, but where we can see your face. A clear recognizable picture of your face only taken at least within the last five years. If your picture does not meet these specifications, you will be delcined and asked to post a new picture and request to join again. If you want more privacy, just post your first name or first name and only the first letter of your last name on your profile This can be changed through settings and edit your name. Here are instructions to post a photo. It does not work easily from a cell phone usually. Our group is set to private so non-members cannot see who is in our group.
You must live near the greater Kansas City area to be a member of this group, within 50 miles away. Please make sure your profile reflects your current city of residence when you request to join.
Add or change your Meetup profile photo: Click your account dropdown, then select ‘Profile’ from the menu that appears. Click ‘change your photo’ on the right side of the page. Select one of the following options: Use my Facebook photo, Upload a new photo from your computer. Click ‘Done’ when you’re all set.
Someone may come as a guest two times. To continue attending our meetups they will need to join as a member.
