FREE Concert @ Mo. Botanical Gardens - Javier Mendoza

Anyone who has been in the past knows just how nice these free concerts are (without rain J). The Garden is always beautiful, the music always good, and the time relaxing. Admission is FREE  after 5:00pm and so is parking. You can bring in your own snacks, picnic dinner, and drinks (including alcohol) or they do have some items for sale. You also need to bring your own lawn chair of blanket. Please know the concerts are in the amphitheater and it is a bit of a walk from the lot in case you are bringing a lot.

On this evening we will be there to see a St. Louis favorite, Javier Mendoza. His Latin influenced soulful rock sound is sure to please. If you have never heard him, you will be in for a treat. Those of you who have seen him know he has quite a following for good reason.

If you enjoy a relaxing night with friends, great surroundings and music, this is perfect. We will get there when it opens and try to get our place by “the tree” which sounds funny but will become apparent when directions go out to those who rsvp. The music actually starts about 7:30 so we will have plenty of time to visit. I would not wait til show time to arrive. These concerts draw a crowd and it will be difficult to park and find us.

My first event with the Liberal Boomers. 5 star evening. The Garden day lilies were worth the trip alone. So many new friends and such a nice group. My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves and plan on going back in 2 weeks for another Wednesday evening concert. Join us, if you like.

Wonderful time at a wonderful place. I think the social parties were the main attraction!

I sat in the parking lot with my stuff, listening to Middlemarch. I had realized during the day that I am probably too old to enjoy a whole night sitting outside, so that was sad for me. I drove home at five to leave my parking space to others.

The past few summers, the heat and the rain had kept me from even attempting the Muny and Shakespeare in the Park, so I hadn't had to make the choice for myself.

I had walked to the amphitheater with a friend during the Chinese lantern festival, so I knew how far it was. Thanks for reminding us in your description of the event, randy. And thanks for hosting another wonderful event.

You make the rest of us look like really nice people.

It was a great night to be at the Garden, Drew and I got there at 6pm and had to sit too far behind the tree to join the group but we enjoyed the night.

Picnic stuff I will put in my car

    FOOD CARRIERS:
I have a wheeled thermos plus fake ice.

I have a plastic jug I can put water in or a different beverage. It has a spigot .

I have a wheeled bag and a plastic collapsible box with a handle.

I have five giant shopping bags .

I have two "six- pack size " thermoses I can fill with other peoples cans.
I have three cans of multigrain cheddar Pringles I will bring.

I am retired and have a pt cruiser to carry stuff, so I can load my car and other people can borrow stuff if they need it.

    Mary carroll[masked] ( cell[masked])

I will plan to get there by 4:30. The parking lot can be crowded, but I like the far right hand side, under the trees.

I have 3 blankets and two foam yoga mats and a plastic folding mat and five garden foam kneelers/ pads. And two folding camp chairs with bags.

I have paper plates and napkins and 30 red plastic party cups...new, unwrapped. And paper towels. And a box of trash bags.

    My wifi was down.

THIS group has more people who have more stuff. But we don't want to have to carry heavy things really far. So. Thanks for saying I tickled you. I cut out a lot to get down to 1000 characters.

    • Terry K

Thank you for offering I might borrow some stuff from you!

I just want to add this: it's going to be VERY crowded. I live right by the garden and I see the crowds. This is a very popular concert. Expect lots of people!!!Unless it rains. Thanks Randy for holding a space under the tree.

While I will be going, I will be selling tee shirts and CDs for Javier, so probably won't be sitting with the group. If you see me, say hello! (and buy a tee shirt!) LOL

Hey this sounds like an event. I've missed the last couple since the winery, so look forward to seeing this whole bunch coming to this one.
