Welcome. This is a Quarterly meeting for psychologists, psychiatrists, LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs, MDs, or Psych MSNs/NPs who have a full or part time Private Practice in Philadelphia or surrounding suburbs.
We meet for a meal in Chestnut Hill bordering Mont. Co. The days of the wk rotate. The purpose is to connect, off set the isolation of pp, and informally discuss pp related topics.
Members MUST be licensed and in active verifiable full or part time private practice. Members are required to provide contact info (Full Practice address/phone no/real full name w/ credentials) on their profile along with an identifiable photo of themselves. Web link is optional. Please respect our criteria. Do not attempt to join until you are licensed and in an active verifiable PP seeing clients. You need to provide ALL the required info when you join.
Sorry, no exceptions as vetting is critical to our success so membership and format rules comply with ethical and professional standards.
Many are unable to attend the meetings, however, they join to connect with others and use the discussion forum for appropriate posts such as groups or office space.
Networking is not our primary focus. We are here to share the joys and challenges of Private Practice in psychotherapy, to learn, and just hang out.
Format: after brief introductions, we sit at 5-7 smaller tables of 5-8 to allow interaction on topics we each choose. Members volunteer to facilitate the informal discussions. Previous topics include Mindfulness, Marketing Ethics, DBT, Exposure TX, the Biz of PP, Holistic approaches, newbie q&a, working with LGBT couples.
This group is not affiliated with any person or business. No agendas. We meet in a neutral location. It is not a place to market your practice coaching or affiliated services. We're here as professional peers. We do not discuss cases.
Leaders do not benefit financially from the group. There are no dues but we ask that those who attend donate $5. once per calendar yr to cover the annual cost of using the meetup platform and name tags. This is optional. Contributions can be made once a yr at any event using envelope.
While members are encouraged to post info such as workshops, etc. and to use their profile to share their info and link, this is not set up as a marketing group. Over time cross referrals often naturally occur as we get to know one another but its not our primary purpose.
The group emails, board, or list may not be used to market anything including your services to members nor should this platform, meetings, or list be used to promote another meet up or similar group.
If we don't keep that part low key it turns into a different kind of vibe. Please honor our choice to protect the group as a thriving community to connect as clinicians and biz owners.
