I'm sorry about the lady's passing. I am also sorry too
that the tribute was peppered with f-words and so much reference to weed and drugs -tired and done-to-death. So funny I forgot to laugh...and stay through it

A lovely, raunchy, touching tribute. Just the way Jo-Anna would've wanted it.

Alex. We arrived after Die Hard screening. About 940 or so. Parked at bar first then grabbed a spot in middle of room just behind the low rise wall. BTW everyone, I'm excited to announce there is another Jo-Anna Downey free tribute show this Wednesday

Dec 7 at Spirits. Expect another great lineup of comics and touching tributes. This was one of her favorite venues. See you there!

Yes, a lot of people, both comics and their fans, go to both Spirits and the Eton House for stand-up. Jo-Anna Downey MC'd both for many years. I'm in the middle of a move but I'll try to attend Wednesday.

The comics were great considering their hearts were heavy.

Hilarious and sometimes blushingly and cringingly crude comedy. A touching evening of tribute and love to Jo-Anna Downey.

Despite the passing of Jo-Anna Downey it was a night full of laughs. I'm still in pain from laughing so hard. Thanks to all that turned out!!

This morning at around 10:30 Sandra Battaglini contacted me with the sad news that Jo-Anna Downey passed away late last night. I couldn't announce this until all of Jo-Anna's family was informed. The show tonight will still go on in honour of Jo-Anna Downey. I have a feeling that it will be a full house!! R.I.P. Jo-Anna!

Hi Alex, my elderly cat Zummer misbehaves (goes to the bathroom in all the wrong places) whenever I leave the house for too long so… I'm cancelling at the last minute which is bad I know. Hope you have a great time!

Would love to go but I'm in a film til December 10. I lost an old friend three days ago to ALS, my sister in law has it and also another good friend. Terrifying and very sad disease. More research needs to be done for sure.

Alex, my husband lived with ALS for may years. It is unbelievable that in this day and age there is still no treatment and no cure. Thank you for suggesting this event. Funding for research is the only route to a cure.
