LIGHT & SHADOW: A Film and Video Lighting Workshop (Advanced)
May 15 and 16

Legendary cinematographer Gordon Willis and other great filmmakers understand not only how to best light a set, but how light affects the mood of a scene and the emotions of an actor.

Light & Shadow: a Film and Video Lighting Workshop is a one-weekend, intensive, hands-on workshop for independent filmmakers and students who want to learn fast, simple and effective lighting styles without a big-studio budget. It focuses on the philosophy that SHADOW is just as, if not more, important to the depth and atmosphere of a scene than LIGHT.

Light and Shadow Boot Camp emphasizes not only how to quickly and efficiently light and shoot a scene, but also how to manipulate light and shadow to further the themes, feelings, and plot of a film.

In this Advanced Workshop, we?ll explore topics such as :
? Creating Mood and Dimension
? Soft Lighting
? 10 Ways to Light 1 Actor/Scene
? 10-Minute Set Ups
? Lighting for movment
? Shooting in tight areas
? Exterior Lighting (weather permitting)
? and many more

We?ll have exercises in Lighting for Movements, Face to Face Interviews, and Simulating Scenes from Movies. So expect lots of hands-on practice, problem-solving tips and tricks, and lively discussions.
