Listen & Flow
Listen & Flow is on-the-spot personal writing in a welcome space. Our goal is to write honestly, about whatever's most real to us, right now, even if it's messy or unsophisticated. When we write like this, we resonate. Prompts are the doorways into our stories. We write quickly, without editing or choosing words, then we read aloud to the group. In place of critique, we offer sincere and quiet thanks. This is valuable, healing work that brings us together. This gathering is for people who like to write. If you hope to improve your writing, you're welcome here. If you're an experienced writer, wonderful. If you haven't written for a while but you want to get back to it, yay! Please bring your favorite pen and notebook. We're more grounded and in touch with our creativity when we write with these old-fashioned materials. Laptop writing taps a different part of the brain that, I believe, interferes with this "raw" process. We keep the meetings small so we can get to know each other and have time to write and share within the two-hour time frame. The small-size group also offers everyone the sense of safety. Teas, coffee, light snacks, and filtered water will be available. Address information will be sent to you via Meetup private message a few days before the event. The $20 fee is to cover the Meetup fees, preparations for the gathering, the creative experience (where you'll likely bring home some meaningful writing), plus food and drinks. Thank you!
