Let's do an 8-mile moderately strenuous hike in the Hudson Valley. Highlights will be beautiful vistas and the ruins of the old Cornish Estate.
We will not be scrambling up the face of Breakneck, but rather a fairly steep climb from the side through the woods with very little rock scrambling. We intersect Breakneck after the 3rd peak, but there are still a few more small ups & downs. We start out on white Washburn trail, pass an old quarry & then climb to the top of that quarry, then into the woods ~ a left on Blue which takes us back down towards the remains of the old dairy farm. Then we pick up Yellow (right turn) & head back up towards Breakneck via the side (nothing too strenuous) take that to Blue (left) which brings us back down past the Dairy Farm again, but this time we head towards the ruins of the old estate.
The parking lot is on 9D directly across from Little Stony Point.
