What we're about

This group is for any and all nature lovers. Our activities will focus on spending time in nature, learning about nature, and getting to know other nature lovers: wildflower walks, hikes, easy kayak trips, visiting science museums, and more. I'm aiming for one event per month to start, and events will be for smaller groups so we can really get to know each other.

Any physical activities will be geared toward appreciating nature and enjoying each other's company, so will be appropriate for most skill levels. I started this group because it's hard to find people who want to really spend time in nature, not just exercise outdoors. I'm looking forward to bringing together people who care about and enjoy nature as much as I do!

Solstice Hike at South Platte Park (Easy)

South Platte Park and Carson Nature Center

Let's go on an easy hike in honor of the winter solstice. The hike will be about 2 miles on level, natural surface trails, alongside the South Platte River. Meet on the deck at the back of the nature center. Bring water, snacks, and sun protection. And your hiking shoes, of course (or snow boots, if needed). The sun sets around 4:30pm, and while we'll be off the trail before then, consider bringing a flashlight or headlamp. If the parking lot is full, you can park in the RTD overflow lot next to the park, for free. I'll email my phone number out the day before to everyone who RSVP'd, so you can reach me if you have trouble finding the group.
