Friday is a holiday so this seems like a nice relaxed show to start the New Year weekend. This two young singer songwriters seem to have promise. Hope you come join me at Jammin Java for a seated show.

Molly Hagen is a Washington, DC-based singer/songwriter who credits her musical influences of Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, and Norah Jones (to name a few...) for spawning her blues-country-pop sound. Molly has performed at local venues such as the 930 Club, Rock and Roll Hotel, Jammin' Java, and Iota Club and Cafe. She has toured cities on the east coast and has made frequent stops in New York, playing venues such as the Bitter End and Angels and Kings. Molly plays solo or with a full band, and has shared the stage with many local artists, as well as nationally-known artists such as Martin Sexton and Basia Bulat. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her second EP. Stay in touch and stay tuned for the release!

Natalie York is a homegrown, Vienna, Va., singer-songwriter who combines the sass of the Stax soul sound and the sensitivity of contemporary folk to produce truly romantic and haunting songs that will stay with you. A senior at the University ofMiami, she'll be the first graduate in December 2010 of the music school's Bruce Hornsby Creative American Music Program. She's opened for Grammy winners Hornsby, Shawn Colvin and Jim Lauderdale, and this fall shared the stage with legendary songwriter and Motown great Lamont Dozier.
