RSVP is required. Text, email or call me in advance.
IF YOU ARE NEW to our gardens, the best days to come are Monday and Wednesday mornings when I am there and can show you around.
Once you are familiar with our gardens and you know what to do, you may RSVP and work during one of the other times, when I may or may not be there working with you.
The very best way to stay in the loop now that the garden season is in full swing.
Things are happening so fast that I can't update the calendar or weekly garden newsletter quick enough. We are working in our 9 gardens 6 days a week - everyday but Sunday.
To help you keep up with what's happening in our gardens, we are encouraging you to start receiving our Garden Text Messages, if you haven’t done so already.
Don’t worry if you don’t receive Text Messages. Keep reading. We have a plan for you too.
With text messages, you'll hear the very latest info on what's happening, gardens we are working in that need the most attention, type of work we are doing, what we need help with most, type of food and harvest available, etc.
Food and harvest is given to all those who work in our gardens.
It’s easy to start receiving our text messages today
Send me, Sheryl McGlochlin, a text at[masked]-5313. State your name and that you want to receive Garden Text Messages.
When you receive a message from me regarding food or work to do, ONLY respond to the message if you are coming or want the food. I don’t need to know that you are not able to come or don’t want any food.
Once we see you working in our gardens, you will be upgraded to our priority VIP Text Message List which means you’ll be the first to hear all news being sent out.
For those who don’t text

BENEFITS of COMMUNITY GARDENING
Even after several years, I continue to be amazed at the amount of work accomplished in our gardens by a few people within an hour or two. It’s quite miraculous!
Within 24 hours of the work date, I may update the calendar regarding which garden we are working in. We have nine gardens in the Salt Lake valley located in Holladay, South Jordan, and West Jordan. Please check the CALENDAR or Text me before coming to make sure you are going to the right place. In January, we start working in one garden at a time until all nine gardens are open and running by mid-April.
WORK TO BE DONE:
Type of garden work will vary from week to week depending on what’s happening with the weather, the season and the needs of a particular garden. This info will be updated within 24 hours of the Work Date as well. Check the CALENDAR before coming OR send me a Text so you can start receiving TEXT messages from me on the very latest work to be done.
During a group work time, new people are invited to take a look at what we do, without actually working. Come and check us out to see if we are a good fit for you! If you would like to work with us, you are invited to do so.
HARVEST & FOOD:
Generally speaking, every week there is some type of food available for those who work. It may be a meal I’ve prepared, harvest from the garden or food that we receive from local businesses. You never know what it may be but one way we show our appreciation to those who work with us is by feeding them.
MEETING IN PERSON
Besides receiving more information about our group, we want to learn more about you and why you are interested in our group. Tell us a little about your skills, experience, knowledge, talents, etc.
Know the latest on what’s happening. Get acquainted with our TWO garden calendars and learn about updated info on where we are working and what we are doing. Check one of these calendars 24 hours prior to a work date to make sure you have updated info. Additional work days are added to the calendar as well, as the season progresses. 1) LIVE AND THRIVE CALENDAR 2) MEETUP CALENDAR
I send the very latest info via text message. To be in the loop, text me, include your name and a message stating you want to receive Garden Text messages. My cell: [masked]-5313.
