Mads Tolling Quartet

Mads Tolling comes to Rhythmix with his quartet fresh off a featured slot at SFJAZZ's Hotplate performance series. Mads is an internationally renowned violinist, violist, and composer and also a former eight year member of the two-time Grammy-winning Turtle Island Quartet. After touring extensively with acclaimed bassist Stanley Clarke’s band, Mads has led his own group, the Mads Tolling Quartet (MTQ). Coming together through the eclectic San Francisco jazz scene, MTQ features Dave Mac Nab on guitar, Sam Bevan on bass, Eric Garland on drums, with Mads' violin integrated into a formerly traditional jazz combo.

“A wonderful new voice on the violin – very refreshing!” -Chick Corea

“Mads Tolling is the most exciting musician I have come across in the past ten years.” -Stanley Clarke

“Mads has the amazing talent and skills that few young musicians can match. His music is both beautiful and refreshing exhibiting his superb mastery of the modern American Jazz music that is rarely seen among his peers.” -Jean-Luc Ponty

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

    Hi everyone,

If you haven't bought tickets yet, the advance price of $15 is available til 2pm today otherwise it'll be $20 at the door. Please identify yourself as being part of the meetup group when you arrive so we can all find each other. I am planning to set aside a section of seating in the front left of the theater (as you're facing the stage) and will put some signage out on the tables. The theater will be setup cabaret style, so we won't all be able to sit together, but we'll have a section of tables next to each other. If you arrive early, let's meetup in the gallery before the show (drinks and snacks will be available there). see you soon,

    Hey all,

I just made a special registration page for Meetup folks so you can save on the ticket service fee. http://conta.cc/16LM12A

This link will stay active til 2pm on Friday, so please get your tix by then, otherwise its $20 at the door. I'm planning to set aside some seats on the front left side of the theater so we can sit near each other -- If you do NOT plan to attend the show, please change your RSVP to no so we'll have an accurate headcount. Thanks and look forward to seeing you all on Friday night!

Looking forward to my first event with the group! It looks like it is mostly street parking. Is it fairly easy to park near there at 8 pm on Friday evenings?

    August 12, 2013

    • bean

There is a parking lot across the street from us that our neighbors let us use and lots of street parking. It is pretty easy to park around here (and free!)
