  • Nov 22, 2012 · 4:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

For anybody who likes winter hike and cool weather, I have book a 3 nights cabin nearby Yosemite and Bass Lake so we can hike both national parks. The cabin can only fit 10 person and each person only pay $117 (arrive Thursday and leave Sunday).

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, include BBQ, balcony, pool & ping pong table, big screen TV, full kitchen and laundry. The blanket and towels are supplied by the house.

Since the November is fairly cold in Sierra, please bring:
Gloves, Beanie Hat & Winter jacket. If you have air mattress or sleeping bag (for guys), please bring those too.

Carpool: Leonardo & myself will drive and pick you up. Please email me with your address. As far as gas money, it is estimated to +/- $50 per person.

Thursday: We leave by 9 AM from IE as a caravan and arrive at the cabin by 4PM, there is a  Raley's supermarket where we can shop for grocery. I will pick up Turkey dinner from there so we can have a nice thanksgiving dinner that evening.

Friday: I'm going to cook breakfast (scrambled egg, potato o'brien and sausage), At  9 AM, we drive to Yosemite National Park and hike these following trails:

1. Bridal Veil Falls, 0.5 mile easy hike.
2. Vernal Fall Trail, 1.5 mile moderate hike.
3. Upper Yosemite Falls, 1.5 mile moderate hike.

After hike, we can have bbq party at the cabin.

Saturday: 9AM, we can go Nelder Grove (Oakhurst, California). One of the star attractions of Yosemite National Park is the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. It was these massive cinnamon-colored trees, the largest living things on earth, that inspired our national park system. In 1864 Abraham Lincoln set aside the Mariposa Grove as a protected state reserve “for the pleasuring of the people.” Eight years later the world’s first national park was created at Yellowstone and Yosemite was transferred to national guidance in 1890.

Except for a miss-understanding with the organizer, the trip was great. The people were all nice, and of course the beauty of Nature was overwhelming.

Hi, I might join and could drive. I have a leased Toyota Corolla, year 2010, so it should be reliable.
