Start your week off with 5 healthy grab and go meals! We can make this chore fun by prepping our meals together. We will gather every other Sunday Evening from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Everyone brings one ingredient to share so that it cuts all of our work down to just one simple chore. We will rotate recipes so you never get bored and we can accommodate everyone’s taste buds. We will be using mostly pint sized mason jars as they seem to be the perfect size for breakfast or lunch. Bring 5 pint size mason jars with you each time (I will have jars for purchase for $1 each to get you started) plus one ingredient (cut up and ready to use) to share with everyone. Ingredients will vary depending on what we are preparing for that week. Friends and family are welcome. The more friends the more variety we have for our creations.
December 4, 2016 Overnight Oats - Bring 2-3 cups freeze dried or dehydrated fruits and/or nuts. Chopped walnuts or pecans, freeze dried berries or apples, dehydrated apples, raisins, cranberries, etc. I will supply oats, chia seeds and almond milk. You may choose to add your own milk later. While these can be made with fresh or frozen fruits they will not store well for more than one night. Using freeze dried or dehydrated fruits will allow them to be stored longer in the refrigerator with milk or even longer in the cupboard without milk. These can be eaten cold or hot and make an excellent quick breakfast, snack or lunch.
