Everyone lives with stress. It’s a part of life. Google says it’s
a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.
I say the circumstances don’t always have to be adverse or very demanding. Sometimes it’s a low-grade unrelenting stress, but it’s just as harmful. Our systems have an automatic response to these conditions which includes flooding our bodies and brains with powerful hormones so that we can act fast and free ourselves from danger. It’s a deep-rooted instinct left over from the days we had to worry about fending off wild beasts on a regular basis. What happens when there is no beast to flee? Long term unresolved stress can be harmful to us mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. So, what do we do to keep the damage to a minimum – particularly for those of us living with chronic illness? That’s what we’ll talk about at the next Living Positive with Chronic Illness meeting. Please join me on Dec 13th from 1:00 to 3:00pm in the event center at Raley’s grocery store located at 1915 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, Ca 95661
Please refrain from bringing animals of any kind, wearing fragrances or attending if you have a communicable virus such as a cold or flu or have been recently exposed. Due to the nature of this Meetup I would like to keep the allergen and germ risk as low as possible. Some of our attendees are immunocompromised and/or susceptible to exacerbation of respiratory symptoms. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
This will be a general meet and greet and introduction to what I hope will be an ongoing support group/education series on living well with chronic and/or life threatening illness. I have a number of tools that I use to help me live the best life possible despite my illness and wish to share them with you. I also know I have a lot to learn, so I want your feedback and tools as well. I look forward to meeting you!
Let's chat about the strategies we use to get through the long haul. I've got lots of tips & techniques to reduce the stress illness places on us (& that we place on ourselves). We will connect & support one another on this very long and winding journey. We'll also laugh a lot too!
The evening will celebrate the release of Danea's first book, Chronic Resilience: 10 Sanity-Saving Strategies for Women Coping with the Stress of Illness. Books will be available for purchase & signing at the event. Book trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT9ttKRY4tY
Let's kick off the new year with a dose of positivity. In January we will be talking about ways to increase the amount of daily positivity in our lives as well as exploring some of the popular "myths" of positivity.
“You've done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.” -Ralph Marston
The meeting location is generously sponsored by Bedell Financial. They have a beautiful meeting space for use to use.
This group is open to anyone who is dealing with a life altering illness, stress, chronic fatigue, etc... as well as their support providers. It will be a warm and inviting place where we can share tips, tricks, support and ideas for increasing our personal positivity and the positivity around us.

Communication strategies. Setting and achieving goals. Ways to enjoy life despite the challenges we deal with. This group is closed to solicitations. If you have something to sell...a class...a product, etc... we would still love for you to join us for your personal benefit, but leave the pitch and products at home. Thanks!
