On Sunday, 29th September, we will be taking 74 individuals from 21 low and medium income families in facilitating an engagement session of sand castle building, a unique project aimed at improving the parent and teenager relationship in Hong Kong.
The objective of the project is to leverage creative ways in bringing together parents and teenagers, a group seldom tackled in volunteering activities, and to foster their relationship by providing a creative outlet to teenagers while stressing on the importance of teamwork, communication skills and the need for encouragement from parents. For this purpose, we have hired Castles Can Fly, professional sand castle builders, who will be coordinating the whole event.
What will the volunteers do:
Volunteers will meet the beneficiaries at Hong Kong Federation of Youth Group's Choi Hung centre at 10am for briefing and an ice breaking session.
